The 2011 Angel Capital Association (ACA) summit was sold out, and featured great content, and since it was just next door in Boston, we had angels there to represent the local angel investor community. In the following video, Kristina Tomaz Young, from VentureCapTV interviews Jacques Bernier, CEO of Teralys. Jacques Bernier explains the benefits of doing business in Montreal for Boston Tech: generous tax credits, low cost of living and the available funding. He also mentions recent initiatives such as new accelerators (FounderFuel calling for applications, as well as TandemLaunch for 2012). It goes both way of course: Boston has attracted the best minds in North America, a well-known hotbed for innovation, and he sees the opportunity for more Boston/QC links. Hopper has decided to have an office in Boston after receiving $8m from Atlas Ventures. Jacques Bernier is a great cheerleader, and we need to hear more of him talking about innovation in Montreal. Another recent cheerleader mentioning innovation is Cirque du Soleil Daniel Lamarre who’s been making the case for Montreal as the capital of creativity. His most recent piece in the Gazette is brilliant, and should be on the mind of anyone who wants to explain *why montreal*.
